Traditional Chinese medicine hospitals growing

BEIJING, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- The number of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospitals in China has increased by 500 in five years, a rise of 15.5 percent, a TCM official said on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the number of TCM outpatient departments and clinics increased by 531 and 5,890, said Wang Guoqiang, director of the State Administration of TCM at the 2016 national TCM meeting.

In 2014, there were 530 million visits to TCM hospitals, accounting for 17.9 percent of total hospital visits across the country, Wang said.

University of Malta opens Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic

VALLETTA, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) -- The University of Malta (UM) has set up a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Clinic manned by highly professional doctors from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM), according to a statement posted on the UM's official website on Monday.

The UM had also offered a master degree program in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Culture in collaboration with the SHUTCM in October 2015, aiming at attracting doctors and health care professionals from Malta.

College students open TCM decoction center in east China

FUZHOU, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Four college students in the east China province of Fujian saw a gap in the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) market, there was a lack of dedicated one-stop decoction shops.

Huang Xiaoqing, along with three fellow students from Fujian University of TCM, opened a decoction center and released an app to handle and deliver prescriptions.

Established in September, the center has earned more than 100,000 yuan (about 15,180 U.S. dollars) since it opened.
